Highlights from UC Expo Europe 2022

From IT managers looking to overcome new challenges to industry-leading vendors and technology experts, UC Expo Europe attracts a variety of attendees from across the globe. This year’s event was held at ExCeL London on 12th to 13th October, with over 10,000 people in attendance.

Aura’s team were delighted to be part of that number, with six of our team there to discuss, learn, and – of course – help organizations with their global communications challenges. Take a look at some of our highlights below…

Jenson Button’s keynote speech

The two-day event kicked off with a keynote speech from none other than Jenson Button. While racing and unified communications might seem like they’re worlds apart, one thing they definitely have in common is teamwork. That was the focus of the Formula One World Championship winner, in his talk ‘Go fast or far: achieving team cohesion in high intensity environments’

Formula One teams comprise hundreds of people. If they didn’t work as a cohesive unit, Jenson wouldn’t have been on the podium 50 times. Similarly, if an organization’s workforce doesn’t operate as a cohesive team, they won’t get results.

The keynote was certainly popular, with a packed-out main stage and five additional streaming rooms for extra attendees.

The UC Expo Europe agenda

Jenson Button wasn’t the only one informing, inspiring, and engaging attendees. Throughout the two-day event, there were over 200 seminars to choose from, including strategy sessions, technology sessions, partner events and case studies.

A particular favourite of ours were the expert panels, where we got to hear a range of insights and experiences about the challenges we help our customers with week in, week out:

Equipping offices to be collaborative, responsive and equitable – with Ben Barnard (AVIXA), James Robinson (BT), Michael Sadler (City, University of London), Rachel Hunt (Unicol), and Richard Churms (BlueJeans).
Cloudy Skies Clearing: Forecasting your Cloud strategy to generate value and keep costs down – with Dario Maisto (Forrester), Oliver Hirschau (IONOS), Tonino Greco (River Island), Ange Johnson de Wet (Lloyds Bank), and Lucy Thornton (Google).
Building the future workplace: Creating a playground for modern technology – with Dave Michels (Talking Pointz), Sarjo Tourjay (SMBC), and David Givson (Leonardo).

Playing our part!

Of course, no expo would be complete without our own stand, where we could help attendees with their collaboration strategy, assist with global transformation to the cloud, and discuss our global support services. We certainly did plenty of that – it was great to see a mixture of faces both new and old.

But we also had lots of fun in the process. This year, our stand was equipped with some state-of-the-art VR equipment, so visitors could try their hand (or should that be their arms…) with the ultra-immersive tech…

What’s on the agenda for UC Expo Europe 2023?

By the time UC Expo Europe 2022 had drawn to a close, our team was already looking forward to the next event – and we’re sure many other attendees were too. Thankfully, the stages have already been set for UC Expo Europe 2023, with a focus on five key areas:

Digital workplace strategies
Customer contact and experience
Video and audio visual
Building the future of work (UC tech)
Microsoft technologies
